DIETICIANS SUPPORT SUPPLEMENTS

According to the "Life...supplemented" campaign in the US, more than 80% of registered dieticians believe that nutritional gaps in the diet can be filled with dietary supplements. Seventy-six percent of those surveyed said that supplements can address their own diet gaps, 96% confirmed that they take supplements and 87% acknowledged recommending supplements to their clients. The most popular supplement among dietitians is a multivitamin which 84% of those surveyed consume. Sixty-four percent take at least one specialty supplement such as omega-3 fish oil while 46% take herbal or botanical supplements and 22% take a fiber supplement. Nearly 60% of registered dietitians take supplements for improved bone health while 58% take supplements for overall health and wellness.  And 72% of dietitians who recommend supplements to their clients do so to improve bone health and nearly 70% to fill nutrition gaps. The "Life...supplemented" campaign seeks to promote awareness of vitamins and other dietary supplements and their responsible use.
